Alas! Due to advancing age, I must face the harsh reality that I will never have the time or strength to restore my 1972 411 4-speed manual 2-door “Coupe.”

For me, the 411 2-door with manual transmission holds a place in the rarest-of-the-rare category perhaps right below the Type III Ghia, the Kubelwagen, and the Schwimmwagen.

Some of the Type IV-related items I’ve accumulated over the years:

    • Spare 1700cc engine (Variant/Station Wagon configuration)
    • 2 spare transmissions
    • Spare clutch hydraulics (I’m sure there’s a new-in-box slave cylinder; there may also be a master)
    • Spare clutch discs
    • Several pairs of Euro amber rear turn signal lenses
    • Smaller Euro front turn signals, complete
    • Early (1968?) one piece oval E-code headlights
    • New front strut cartridges
    • New rear shocks
    • Multiple steering dampeners
    • Kilometer speedo
    • OEM Clock with timer circuitry to automatically fire up the stock Eberspacher gas heater
    • Spare hood, doors, and seats
    • 412 aluminum bumpers
    • All glass intact – needs new rubber all around; there was a spare windshield but I need to check if it’s still intact
    • VW0A 411 parts book (amazingly clean; lacking greasy mechanic thumbprints)

There’s probably more, I just don’t remember it all.

All I’m asking is a $100 “nuisance fee” and that the buyer picks it all up at my house in Taylor Ranch

    Whaddayasay?
