Hard time starting

Postby ryman797 » Sat Nov 22, 2014 9:18 pm

Hey guy so I recently bought me a baja bug and i'm having a hard time with the electrical.I have it running and driving, but it has to crank a few times from a cold start till it gets going. The other issue is that when I rev the engine up it starts to spit this black stuff from the tail pipe. Could this just be un-burnt fuel mixing with carbon or??? Any help is appreciated, Thank you!

With as cold as it is and no pre-heat on the engine bajas are very cold blooded and its going to run super rich. Also if your engine is completely exposed don't expect to do any long hwy driving in the winter because once your intake manifold freezes the fuel will come out of suspension and will really flood your engine.
