looking for an honest repair shop

Postby uppersonoranguy » Tue May 04, 2010 9:19 am

Could anyone recommend a good, honest shop to service my '71 super beetle (preferably in the area of Eubank and Central, but I'll take any suggestion you have). I tried Anton's Autohaus. Questionable business practices.
Thanks,
JM

What happened to Performance Flat Four? Someone recommended that shop previously, but I get nothing but disconnected responses when I call their website's number...

I tried Rio Rancho Imports. Well I took in my parts and drove, my VW in. Well when I drove out it Hasnt beed the same, and at 400 bucks with my parts.
I then took in to For Aid and they had to readjust everyhting Rio did, cause it was all off.
SO BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM RIO RANCHO IMPORTS>

I had my VW in For aid twice and put in a new 300 dollar carb, and Im still having the same problem.
It seams to me they are somewhat ok but more Like part pullers, cause now they want me to buy a Muffler and intake system. I was also told that it might not cure my Problem.
My problem is that the VW wont stay on Long enough so I can Drive it. It keeps shutting donw and after 3 places nobody can seam to fix it. After all in all about 1,400 in parts and Labor.

When you say it "won't stay on", what happens? Does it stall, do the gen/alt and oil lights come on, are there any odd smells or sounds? I'm really curious to know some details, and see if I can brainstorm anything, if you don't mind.

Volkswagen does not build and sell cars. They build and sell mobile DIY kits cleverly disguised as cars. :-D
