Some hashtag, huh?
Benny's having problems since I replaced his shifter bushings, and I can't figure out where I went wrong. I'm hoping it's just an adjustment, but my books aren't helping.
I can't get him to consistently go into first gear. I'll think I have it, then when I let the clutch in, it'll grind or pop out, and not want to go into gear. Sometimes it'll work just fine, but I can't replicate what I did. Other gears work fine, reverse is where it should be, as far as I can tell.
Any ideas or suggestions? I am very frustrated right now.

Thanks,
Harriet

Good news: Got first gear working.
Bad news: As of last night, I can't get into Reverse all of a sudden. Hockey stick? Whole new transmission? ARG!

I had changed the shift rod bushing and coupling a few weeks before. It was working fine for a couple of weeks, then poof. I don't think the new pieces failed, but I'll double-check.
