Showdizzle's 15 window is......

Postby showdizzle » Wed Apr 21, 2010 3:26 pm

Not long for the world Im afraid.

With much contemplation and planning, I have decided to cut this monster up.

There is just way too much rust.

In fact, there isnt a panel on this thing that doesn't have rust. The passenger side frame rail is trashed, so much so that while I was standing inside the bus it collapsed.

Pics to come.....

Its a SAD day in bus history..... :(

I will post up some pics in the morning.

Well,

I no longer have a 15 window......

It is now offically cut up into many pieces.
I can't believe that I just cut up a bus.
But when a frame rail snaps, and the entire lower 12 inches are rusty, and pretty much every other panel has rust in it, on it and around it, sometimes these things must be done.

I will snap some pics tomorrow in the day light. Plus I need to put new battery's in the camera. hahahahha!

A sad day in Bus history.

Well,
Here is whats left

A pile of metal that was once a bus............ :( :( :(

I saved as much of the good metal as possible, but to be honest there wasn't much left.
I did get the complete deluxe trim set, the clock, speedo, front beam and lots of other trinkets that are somewhat expensive. Plus I save the B pillars and other misc stuff.
So one is lost, but it will help rebuild another! So onto the next project!

Jess,
the long panel has some good parts on it, but the lower 8 inches is toast and there are spots of rust throughout the panel. The inner supports were also almost rusted away to nothing.

Al,
The nose isnt really usable, the metal is stretched and there is a rust line on the lower 8-9 inches, plus there are a handful of bullet holes.

I think Im going to put some paint on it and hang it on my wall as a reminder.
